Stefan Czurda is a Vienna-based conceptual street photographer whose work centers on emotional moments in everyday urban life.
In his signature style Urban Ghosts, he uses motion blur and abstraction to transform passersby into ghostlike figures—capturing the fleeting emotions we often overlook. His images aim to evoke emotion rather than explain, inviting viewers into a contemplative and introspective space.
Over the past years, Stefan began describing his artistic approach as Conceptual Street Photography, a term he uses to characterize his own way of working, where street photography begins with an idea or emotional concept rather than a random moment.
Urban Ghosts has received international recognition through awards and features in publications including Dodho Magazine, About Photography and Edge of Humanity.
In addition to his photographic practice, Stefan is the author of Conceptual Street Photography, a reflective guide to developing a personal visual and emotional language in street photography.
He also offers workshops and portfolio reviews, helping photographers develop their own visual voice and build a more personal and intentional approach to street photography.
A selection of works is available as limited edition prints upon request.
