the echo of hooves fades into the mist.
The coachmen dissolve into light and shadow,
lingering like fragments of memory.
The horses emerge through motion and mist,
their silhouettes echoing
another time.

Horseman of Memories was awarded an honorable mention at the
2025 Paris International Street Photography Awards.
“Horsemen of Memories” is a conceptual series that reinterprets Vienna’s historic fiakers through abstraction and motion blur. Rather than documenting a cultural tradition, the project explores memory and the passage of time. Inspired by Stefan Czurda’s signature Urban Ghosts style, the series transforms the fiakers into fleeting figures that remind us how the past still moves through the present. There is no political or social intention behind the work. It is an artistic interpretation.
